Una is  situated at south western part Himachal Tourism which lies in India .On the 1st 
September of 1972 the Himachal Pradesh Govt, reconstruct the  Kangra district into three 
districts Una, Hamirpur and Kangra by namely.The famous places of Una are ‘Chintpurni’ 
Goddess temple, Dera Baba Rudru, Jogi Panga, Dharamshala Mahanta, Dhunsar Mahadev
Temple, Shiv Bari Temple Gagret, Dera Baba Bharbhag Singh, and Mini Secretariat.Una 
district is well developed in the industrial sector due to close proximity to Punjab.Mehatpur,
Gagret, Tahliwal & Amb are main industrial centres of Una. On11th January 1991, Una 
hasbeen provided with railway line by laying 14 Kmsbroad gauge track from Nangal
(Punjab) to Una. Punjabi, Hindi, Pahari are common languages spoken. In winter, climate
 is cool, woolen clothes required.Cotton clothes required due to hot summer. From July to
 September, it is rainy and  muggy.

Pong Dam

In Himachal Tourism Pong Dam and Lake also known as Maharana Pratap Sagar,
was created in 1975, by building the highest earthfill dam in India on the Beas River
 in the wetland zone of the Shivalik Hills of the Kangra district of the state of
 Himachal Pradesh .The lake is a well-known wildlife sanctuary and one of the 
26 international wetland sites declared in India by the Ramsar Convention. It 
covers a huge area of reservoir 24,529 hectares,and the wetlands portion is 
15,662 hectares .It is named in the honour of Maharana  Pratap at 1540–1597.
The Pong lack and is the most important fishing reservoir and  Gobind sagar
 lake is too,these are the leading sources of fish within the Himalayan states.

Chintpurni Temple

Chintpurni is located in Una, and  a major pilgrimage Centre of Una in 
 Himachal Tourism. It is also one of the Shakti Peethas in India. The 
Chintpurni shakti peeth  also called Chhinnamastika shakti peeth,
surrounded by the western Himalayan in the north and east in the 
smaller Shiwalik range ,bordering the state of Punjab. The Chintpurni 
Shakti Peeth houses the temple of Chinnamastika Devi.Chinnamastika 
temple is one of the 7 major and 51 total Shakti Peethas. Here, 
Chhinnamastaika is interpreted as the severed-headed one as well as 
the foreheaded-one.
Here is a great story of Chhinnamastika devi.Lord Shiva  stop his Tandava,
and would calm down, so that, Lord Vishnu severed the burning body of Maa 
Sati into 51 pieces.The pieces were scattered over various places in the Indian
 subcontinent. The goddess residing in Chintpurni is also known by the name of 
Chhinnamastika .It is believed that Sati’s head fell at this place so that it considered
 one of the most important of the 51 Shakti Peethas.

Thaneek Pura

In Himachal Tourism,Thaneek Pura is located in Una ,at a distance of about 
3 km from the Chintpurni Shrine.It is  Apart from its scenic beauty, Thaneek Pura
 is famous for its temples like Radha-Krishna Temple, Mahiya Sidh Temple and 
Guga Zahar veer Temple.
Thaneek Pura is also known for fairs.A grand Bhandara is also organized which is 
one of the largest of its kind. Wrestling competition is the main attraction of fair .It  is 
also a part of this fair and  that is attended by all the famous wrestlers of Himachal, 
Punjab and other nearby states. This fair continues for three days. Krishna 
Janmashtami and coincides with Guga Navami celebrated by the people .Here, 
people can also see an ancient and unique deep well that digs down around 60 stairs 
and main well being further down.
