The Hamirpur district  in Himachal Tourism, is situated in the south western part of Himachal
Pradesh.It is covered by lower Himalayas. The main hill ranges of the Chamba are known as  
Jakh  Dhar & Sola Singhi Dhar.The  Jakh dhar runs in continuation of Kali Dhar range in the 
Kangra district.It transverses into southeastern direction and enters in  Hamirpur  district  near
Nadaun  and . This is another area situated at lower elevation and is comparatively warmer but 
has some hilly ranges covered with Pine forests.During winter months, These hills is well 
developed for trekking and camping.Hamirpur is a town and also a  district headquarters of 
Hamirpur district. This district was made by carving,in 1972,it out from the Kangra district. It is
well connected  all sides by roads,and it can be promoted as a tourist destination by developing 
some religious and historical places. At present the known attractionsare Temple of Sujanpur 
Tihra,Deot-Sidh, and Nadaun.

In Himachal Tourism , Awah Devi Temple is situated in Hamirpur town.It is a 250 years 
old shrine, and 24km far from the Hamirpur town. The temple full of  sacredness and 
perched upon a hill this hill is considered the highest point of Hamirpur. The spectacular
back drop further enhancement  the beauty of this place.it is a legendaryof it self. Jalpa 
Devi is worshipped by a few locals as Kul Devi Clan's Deity,people of Hamirpur.

Sujanpur climate differ all through from hot summer to cold winter. Being on the banks 
of Beas River, the winter is quite serious.The temperature  differ from 38 deg. Celsius in 
summers to almost zero Deg.Celsius in winters. Winters experience low-lying clouds which 
add to the cold weather and one can enjoy walking amidst the clouds.Sujanpur is located on 
the bank of River Beas in Himachal Tourism. It is a beautiful town created and populates by 
Maharaja Sansar Chand Katoch , the King of Kangra.who was later shifted from Kangra to 
Sujanpur,it is also called SujanpurTira or Sujanpur Tihra, after the war with Muslim kings who 
wanted to capture Kangra fort. Sujanpur Palaces is constructed by Maharaja Sansar Chand he 
is also constructed his temples and courts called Baradari ,on the peak of hillock called Tira 
overlooking Sujanpur's famous Chaugan,thus the name of the town is Sujanpur Tira. In the 
middle of this beautiful town there is  a ground ,which remains green throughout the year .This 
ground popularly called in Pahari language 'Chaugan'. Now part of the ground is occupied by 
the Sanik School. The ground is a meeting place for most of thetown people, ladies, men,
children for evening walk and for playing all types of games. Most famous Holi
fair also takes place on this ground which last almost 2–3 weeks during the month of March.


Baba Balak Nath temple

Baba Balak Nath Temple is one of the most famous sacred place and pilgrims of Hamirpur in  
Himachal Tourism .It is also known as the God's own land. The ancient Cave and temple 
architecture relates to the Deot Sidh era in Hamirpur District. Lakhs of devotees from across 
India and around the world visit this temple to reinforce their firm faith in the "Siddha Tradition". 
There are a number of myths and legends surrounding the Baba Balaknath Temple in Hamirpur 
in Himachal Pradesh. Baba Balaknath was born in three ages in different forms. he was a 
devotee of Lord Shiva in every birth. Baba Balaknath worshipped Lord Shiva and even helped 
out people in distress, that is The history of this temple.Till today pilgrims convey a number of 
their desires to Baba Balaknath in order to turn them into reality.
